THE OTHER, Winter 2011

Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke l2:10)

We at C-CAAL are so excited about being part of what God is doing in the world providing Hope for those in need.

We are thankful to you that contributed in year 2010 and allowed us to embark on a Ugandan mission trip, support and assist many Burundian family refugees here in Houston, provide cultural awareness breakfasts and sponsored our annual benefit dinner with an amazing guest speaker.

We are already looking forward to the projects that God has assigned to us for this year.  We rejoice to know we are One in Christ and are Ambassadors of Reconciliation (2 Cor. 5: 17-18). Will you prayerfully consider  partnering with us?

Christian & Phoebe Wabara, Founders.

Our Mission

Christian-Cultural Awareness & Assistance League (C-CAAL) is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the awareness of cultural diversity, to celebrate the unity of the human race, and to bring people of different cultural backgrounds together to share the love of Christ in freedom.

Our Purpose

To encourage reconciliation and work toward social harmony, to provide hospitality and assistance to people who suffered from ethnic conflicts, to provide education on the Christian Idea Human community and to organize mission trips to develop a deeper understanding of Christianity in a context of a particular culture.

Touching lives, one person at a time.

·        Ministry with Diane

Phoebe met Diane Kanyamuneza in the summer of 2008 at the Hotel of the Mille Collines in Kigali, Rwanda. The Lord indicated to both Phoebe and Julius to nurture Diane in faith and support her. Praise be to God, Diane now coordinates C-CAAL ministry to Women refugees in Mpaka refugee camp Swaziland. These Women are beginning to work on art projects, singing and exercising.

·        Karamoja Project, North-Eastern of Uganda

In partnership with Julius ANANURA of RETUM, we have just launched an income generating project to empower widows and support orphans.

Due to raids of cattle, most children have been orphaned and those not orphaned live in abject poverty. Orphaned children are in need of clothing and schooling opportunities. C-CAAL has sent a small initial support and plans to send clothes. This project needs your help.

·        Mulago Hospital Child Play Place

While in Kampala, our mission team observed that children do not have a place to sit, play or wait while parents or siblings are receiving cancer treatment. Please consider a donation toward this project.

·        Ministry with Olivier, C-CAAL Prayer Partner, Kigali, Rwanda

We met Olivier in Kigali, November of 2006. Olivier shared his painful story with us. He never attended school, and was looking for his biological mother. He was without shelter and proper clothing but spent his nights praying at various mountains. Phoebe noticed how a loving young man and dedicated to the ministry of prayer Olivier was. Thank God for your support to C-CAAL Ministry, Phoebe was able to respond to his needs and today Olivier calls Phoebe her spiritual mother. Olivier now has a home, is married but unfortunately just lost their first baby. With C-CAAL’s help, Olivier acquired a passport and realized his dream to travel and pray at the African Prayer Mountain and purchased a carpet for his prayer ministry team. Christian visited Olivier’s family in June 2010.
